Community School District voters passed the $11.4 million CSD budget for the 2026 fiscal year June 10. Overall, voters approved the Budget Validation Referendum 310-273. 

Residents voted on a single question: “Do you favor approving the Boothbay-Boothbay Harbor Community School District budget for the upcoming school year that was adopted at the latest District budget meeting?” 

Towns' results differed. Boothbay Harbor Town Clerk Michelle Farnham reported 129 "yes" votes and 86 "no" votes. Boothbay Town Clerk Andrea Lowery reported 187 "no" votes and 181 "yes" votes. The referendum is decided by the aggregate votes between the towns. This was the second of two public budget votes and followed the annual CSD budget meeting May 7.
